Summer has finally broken – at least the humidity, that is. Many full-timers are breathing a sigh of relief with this transition, and I, for one, am thrilled that my knees and eyelids are no longer sweating. Cooler nights and darker hours are here, which would mean that we’d be getting back to the yard work, but the ocean is too damn nice right now, so instead we’re trying to spend many of our mornings at the beach surfing and boogie-boarding. I know, rough life, yadda yadda yadda…
This year, marks nearly a year since our fur baby passed away, so our ofrenda is dedicated to her. I didn’t have a non-digital photo of her so I just drew one from one of our photos. She’s in her happy place – a box. We celebrated with pozole from La Garita, and swapped funny stories about all her antics. I still miss her like crazy, but if she did indeed have cancer, I’m happy that she’s not in pain anymore.
On this election eve, I hope all my fellow US citizens (and residents) have your self care plans ready as I assume this is going to be a mighty unpleasant week regardless of the outcome (or lack thereof). I’ll close out with a few pics of our Dia de los Muertos decorations. Love to you all!
